Added some last-minute vintage-style honeycomb decorations, full-base Beasties, to the Bindlegoods shoppe (which closes for the holiday this Friday night October 23rd). Below are photos of this just-added variation, smaller-run of twenty sets. Note also that a couple of last year'sSpooklights shades (mostly sold out as of this writing) will likely be the last with that particular imagery. Happy Hallowe'en!

Bindlegrim's Bindlegoods
So these last couple of months, there has been much talk about the opening day of Bindlegoods. Wasn't that set for February..? Was it going to creep up during March..? Hey, hasn't April blustered by already without a sign..? Well those days have passed (hopefully with most of the southwestern dust-storm season) and looks like opening day is going to fall sometime during this first week of May! I know this to be true because two orders (from fans who snuck into the crypt) are going out the door this week. The web shoppe address, btw, which I forgot to mention, is bindlegoods.bindlegrim.com
Here's a couple of photos of some Spooklights contents (lamp base and lamp shade) ready for packaging... which will soon be a small non-limited run (vs. limited edition) from Bindlegoods.
As well the Spooklights postcard set just arrived in the studio and is set to ship out free with the first orders (while supplies last). These are colorful Halloween illustrations on a 4x6 matte postcard.
I do believe the next post will be an announcement for the opening of the shop! Thank you for your patience with the ol bones of Bindlegrim! Keep up to date with latest Bindlegrim news via facebook, twitter, and check out some additional imagery via flickr.
By the way, if you've read this far, you just might be a true Bindlegrim fan --- so don't forget last summer started a Bindlegrim tradition for selling the previous year's designs... and there a few limited-edition Creeps (lanterns and candy containers) and Spirits who might be in need of a good haunted home.

Last Week - Bindlegrim Lantern Sale!
Last week of Bindlegrim's 2012 studio stock of vintage-style lanterns, featuring the Ghoulies and Ghosties of The Cornish Litany, dark denizens The Pumpkin Patch, and 12 angry devils in Gruss von Krampus.
Final stock count for a final week. These are the last 2012 Bindlegrim lanterns left...
1: The (last) Cornish Litany (From Ghoulies and Ghosties and Long-leggety Beasties and All Things that go Bump in the Night, Good Lord deliver us!)
Lantern (orange) with 12 postcards included, features a
host of scary characters in gothic settings terrorizing people. Bindlegrim began work on Cornish Litany

Otherwise": CORNISH LITANY vintage style LANTERN (Orange/Black) & 12 POSTCARD SET Bindlegrim
2: The (last) Pumpkin Patch (in red) was created with a focus on vine and leaf motifs to closely merge with the leaf and pumpkin design of the frame. The scene is midnight, deep in the brambles of the pumpkin patch, crawling with a number of spooky creatures staring back at you. And in the middle of all this one very scared little cottage: PUMPKIN PATCH (Red Black) vintage style HALLOWEEN lantern + STORYBOOK Bindlegrim

alpine regions of Europe, Saint Nicholas has a helper Krampus to
assist with disciplinary difficulties. This helper-devil carries a bundled switch and a basket to carry off the truly incorrigible. The 12 different scenes of
Krampus shenanigans on this lantern were inspired by the look of vintage
postcards (often stating "Gruss from Krampus" or Greetings from Krampus. Last KRAMPUS DEVIL Vintage-Style Lantern 2/3 Christmas Halloween Red Black White

The 12 Panes of Krampus
Ah..., as Saint Nicholas might say, naughty children are just that, pains, and fortunately in the alpine regions of Europe he has a helper Krampus (exactly 12 of them on the panes of this vintage-style collapsible paper lantern) to assist with disciplinary difficulties.
Last night, Bindlegrim posted a super short 3-day only auction (ending Dec 20, 2012 19:47:55 PST) for a new lantern, and the last Bindlegrim lantern of 2012. GRUSS von KRAMPUS vintage style HALLOWEEN-CHRISTMAS lantern BINDLEGRIM: 3rd of 3. This lantern (of which only 3 were produced) features 12 scenes of Krampus shenanigans, with a look inspired by vintage postcards of this strange Christmas character.
It's a little hard to photograph all the scenes in a single image when the lantern is set up for lighting, so here are some working files for the panes. This shows Krampus doing what Saint Nicholas hired him to do --- capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away... (wikipedia entry on Krampus).
Fortunately most children must be good here in America, for I have never seen Krampus set foot on this soil. However, with his underground popularity increasing, I wonder if he might finally make it across the water some day, as did one dear friend of ours, the Jack O'Lantern...? Until then, for more images of this lantern check out Bindlegrim on flickr and Happy Holidays and by all means, be good!!!

The Cornish Litany Lantern (Limited Edition)
Another sneak peek at what's going on in the Bindlegrim Studios... as there was some earlier mention of vintage-style 1930's era lanterns. Those may start showing up in the next two weeks!
The initial plan is to have 5 styles, and in each style there will be 10 limited lanterns each numbered and signed by the artist.
Lantern style one pane designs are ready to go, and these are familiar friends from The Pumpkin Dream illustrated poem, with some new, small variations on images in the book. (You can catch sight of the initial pane designs on the Bindlegrim facebook page).
And for lantern style two - since there was a recent enjoyable foray into creating imagery for the Debra Meister's book A Litany...Cornish and Otherwise, it seemed only natural to dream up some new spooky ghouls and ghosts for one with a Cornish Litany theme. And here are 6 panes of what will be that 12 pane lantern:
I really enjoyed these new spookier scenes - and a thought has occurred to do some new Cornish Litany postcards using the very same as those from the pane designs shown above. I will keep you posted, and in the meantime, don't forget Postcard One and Postcard Two limited edition Cornish Litany cards created in 2011 are for sell on etsy (signed and non-signed).

Postcard Sale: The Cornish Litany
While I'm very busy now writing some new stories for a new book in 2012, I wanted to take a break and post some updates on previous posts ( The Cornish Litany Commission and Limited Edition Cornish Litany Postcards). As of this posting, Bindlegrim is happy to announce The Cornish Litany postcards One & Two are now for sale via Etsy.
While initially the plan was to have only 25 signed cards of each (which is still true), the printer sent a surprise bonus of an additional 16 each, and these have also been listed for sale at standard postcard prices. The image above will link you to the Etsy store where you can purchase the card or cards of your choice.
Shown here is the limited signed edition of 25, with postcard one:
And here is postcard two, again showing the limited signed edition:

If you've been following the bindlegrim photostream on flickr then you've already seen posted images of the sketches that preceded the finished product, but for those who perhaps haven't clicked in that direction, I thought it would be fun to post the initial sketches here again, in comparison with the final products show above:
